Wondering if your Flood Insurance policy was affected by the flood insurance suspension?

Not to worry, President Obama signed a bill on 4/15/2010 that extended the National Flood Insurance Program retroactively to February 28 through May 31, 2010 which reverses the lapse that occurred on March 1st and 2nd.  Basically if you had a policy in force during this period you aren’t affected. Homeowners who were buying a home with a mortgage where Flood Insurance is required for the closing had a delay.

With Hurricane season around the corner and the flood program extended, do you have YOUR Flood policy in force? Are you aware that in the event of Flooding from a Hurricane your homeowners policy may not covered the damage? $250,000 worth of building coverage is less than a $1.00 per day.
